(a Jew) I never said that because I wasn't raised with any religion. So I said "American," but that didn't do it. Then I'd say, "my ancestors were Russian, Polish and Austria-Hungarian," but that still left them questioning. So I just said, "I'm a mutt," and left it at that. I still haven't figured out why this matters so much to others. We are all humans. Shouldn't that be enough? Why do we have to be put in a category?Nina Ladenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04394664738642340374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2263726329292071984.post-14371157484311875352012-02-16T15:38:26.107-05:002012-02-16T15:38:26.107-05:00Thank you, G!Thank you, G!Janet Wonghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06335945237210886655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2263726329292071984.post-68318562130812472282012-02-16T03:15:22.033-05:002012-02-16T03:15:22.033-05:00"Thinking more deeply about this now, I reali..."Thinking more deeply about this now, I realize that I see Jeremy Lin as more than a fellow Asian American. I see him as a person who believed in himself when others did not, who patiently waited for his big chance and did a great job when he got it. As a person who generously shares praise with his friends and teammates. And you know what? I like to think of myself--the best parts of myself--in the very same way"<br /><br />Agreed! Well said...
